Sedation Dentistry Services
We offer two different forms of sedation dentistry, to provide you the comfort of sedation in a form that works best for you.
Oral Conscious Sedation
If you are undergoing dental treatment with us, you might consider oral conscious sedation. This is an excellent choice if you tend to be nervous at the dentist’s office.
Oral sedation is administered through a pill that you will take before the appointment begins. The use of this medication will relax your body while still keeping you awake for the procedure, allowing you to communicate with the dentist when needed.
If you use an oral medication for sedation, you will need someone to drive you to and from your appointment. Although you will be conscious for the entire appointment, you won’t immediately be ready to drive yourself. Please ask a friend or family member to assist you in this matter.
IV Sedation
Another sedation option is the IV method. This administers a sedative intravenously. A great benefit of IV sedatives is that they work very quickly. This method is also much easier to regulate than oral medication.
Just as with the oral sedative, IV sedation will leave you unable to drive immediately after your appointment. In order to take advantage of this sedation option, please arrange to have a ride home afterward.
